"Rio" is a gorgeous, smooth-running, black gelding. 15 hands, 1100#, good bone, good feet. He has been used on the ranch and is a finished shooting horse. He is very honest, has been used for both pistol and rifle classes. He gets through his randoms with ease and runs straight down the rundown every time. Drop your reins and go, Rio will take you across the line every trip. Rio placed 2nd at the 2011 Western Shooting Horse Futurity in Clovis, NM and has won money at other CMSA matches and mounted shooting jackpots. He also placed 2nd behind Chad Little at the 2011 Will Lantis Classic CMSA match. He has already won a few thousand dollars with less than a year of being hauled for shooting. Rio also runs barrels and poles. Rio is a low maintenance, honest, sound gelding that would be suitable for nearly anyone that has some riding and/orshooting experience. "Emma" is a gorgeous filly. 15 hands, 1100#. With her blaze face, high white stockings, and roan coloring throughout her body, she will get you noticed in the arena! Emma was lightly raced in Oklahoma as a 2 and 3 year old, and is a race money earner. We purchased her directly from her breeder, so she is not a trader horse that has been passed around. Emma has a good mind and a lot of try. She is quiet and willing. Rides good both in and out of the arena. No buck, no rear, no race track silliness. This mare is down to business and willing to work. She is very quick and powerful. Light mouthed and light sided. I ride her in a Rosie gag with a chain mouthpiece, and she moves out nicely on a loose rein. She is naturally collected and it is easy for her to gather up and power out of a turn with her inside hind leg. No bad habits or vices. Emma has been pasture ridden, been behind cattle, exposed to gun fire. With only 30 days on barrels, Emma is currently loping a really nice barrel pattern and could make a nice 4 or 5 year old futurity horse, an open 4D, or rodeo horse, depending on what route you want to go with her. The video was taken on Christmas Eve, 2011. My outdoor barrel patch is a WPRA standard sized pattern, and the ground is quite challenging, but you can see she handles it very well.
